HUGE PURCHASES OF AEROPLANES- AND SUBMARINES.
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received August 2, 10 a.m.) LONDON, August 1. - Tim Times Riga, correspondent states that extensive military preparations are proceeding iri Russia. German military experts are now actively co-operating with the Red army leaders, who have decided to order from abroad great quantities of technical equipment. In recent mouths: the Soviet has purchased from Holland, Italy, and Switzerland, over seven hundred aeroplanes and seventy-five submarines, besides large quantities of rifles and machine guns.
