TOLAGA BAY BOWLING CLUB.

The annual meeting of the above was fairly attended, Mr. C. E. Smith presiding. The report and balance sheet foi the past season were read and adopted. The report shows that the membership is about thei same as the previous year, several new members having been elected and others having moved to other districts. The balance-sheet explained the financial position'of the- Clubhand members are to be congratulated on having siich a fine property. Owing to the dry early summer of last season play did not take pined on the new green until Christ-

mas Day. Up to that time Mr. C. E. Smith gave the use of his lawn, thus enabling players to- have practice and several matches to be proceeded with. The first game on the new green, a full sized one of eight rinks, took place on Christmas Day. Then the first interclub match, Tokomaru v. Tolaga Bay, of two rinks each, was played on January 2, 1924, the home team winning. Early in December, 1923, a rink from Tolaga played Tokomaru on Mr. Oates’ green there, and were the- losers, During the remainder of the season the new green gradually improved, and the play was very anjoyable. The principal attraction in club competitions was the singles championship. This was awarded to Mr T. 1\ Folheringharn. who won 14 games and had one loss ; Mr, O'. E. Smith winning 10, mid Mr. McGregor 9 games. Eighteen players competed for this event and 71 games worn played. A very large percentage of the games were won and lost on the extra head to decide a tie. Owing to the delay in starting the competitions and t.hci wo; conditions toward the end of the season the handicap singles wore not completed. The feathers doubles are held by Messrs Smith and Onion, and tho Neill’s Pennant (rinks), holders tire Messrs. Fan-nil, Murphy, Harries, Neill (skip), Voles of thanks’ were passed to donors of prizes, Messrs. Boynton and Moi-rnll and to Mr. G. Neil! for a handsome gold jnednl for single champion. The committee who conducted the euchre tournament and Mr. Neill, who was secretary of the art union, were very rordinlly thanked for their efforts and good results. Appreciation of tho voluntary labor and gifts by members-of the club towards the upkeep of tilts green arc extended to all those who so kindly assisted.

The election of office-bearers for the ensuing year, 1924-25, resulted as follows:—President, Mr. G. A. Neill; vicepresident, Air. J, A. Moore; lion, secretary. Mr. F. Wilkinson (re-elected); auditor, Mr. 11. Laing (re-elected); general committee, Messrs. McCrccdy, Findlay, Mattaizzi, Farrell and R. Goodltey; representative delegate to Centre, Air. Rotliwell, of Kalintia Club. The retiring president., Mr. C. Smith and committee were accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
