GIRL GOLFERS “HELD UP.”
“A hag with a necklace worth £IOOO litis beeii lost between Melbourne and Dandenong. We wanted to know if you lin’d found it.” This statement was made to two well-known Melbourne girls' who were stopped a few days ago. They were motoring along a lonely road on their return from golf whew u car in front of them came to a halt and two men called out “Stop !” One girl said to the other. “Oh, l. know, it's a lioid-up.” The other called oiit to- the men, “We have only livepence.” One of the men replied, “li you were not, so pigheaded we would ex plain what We want.” They told the girls, of the loss of the necklace, added that they were deleaves, and then drove oil'. . - . ....
