THE ALL BLACKS,
MILLS’ INCLUSION JUSTIFIED
“Five-eighth” in the Dominion, commenting on the recent agitation for the inclnsid’n of an extra half-back, in the All Black team, makes the following comments: “The frantic effort of Aucklanders to got another man into the team has been amusing. They claim that Wright is a marvel as a half-back. How docs it come about if Wright, is such a wonder behind! the scrum that Hawke’s Bay holds the Rarifurly Shield, and soundly trounced Auckland when they met 1 list year for the trophy? Mill has been behind the Hawke’s Bay pack, and has demonstrated' his superiority over Wright ns a half-back, as lie did in the trials. Mills’ record to date fully justified the New Zealand selectors in classing him as the best half-back in New -Zealand, and this agitation to discredit him at the last moment is unsportsmanlike and unfair. Why all this cry to have another half-hack with the present team? The original All Blacks had only one half-back, F. Roberts, and he appeared to be quite equal to the occasion. The present team arc well served in possessing two halfhacks in Mill and Dailey.
