FORESTERS’ LODGE.

The 95th half-yearly meeting of Court Wm. Gladstone, A.0.F., was held in the lodge-rooms last night, when a record number of members was present. The most pleasing feature was the fact ol 15 Past-Chief Rangers attending, which shows the interest taken by them in the Court. Chief-Ranger Bro. A. W. Humbling presided/assisted by 1.P.C.-R. Bro. E. File, ' The Woodward’s report on the siek at present on Court funds was very satisfactory, there being only three local members at present on the sick list. Hopes were expressed for speedy recoveries. A notice of motion “that this Court move its meeting place to the Girls’ Club Rooms,’’ was next dealt with, and after a lengthy discussion, in which mention of another proposal re hall was mqde, it was decided to move to the Girls’ Club-rooms. The first meeting in the new hall will be held on July 14. Thei juvenile movement was discussed, and it was decided to write asking for the charter, the lodge to be known as Court Jellicoe, Two new members were initiated into the order, and were accorded the “Forestars’ Fire,” the ceremony being led by S.C.R. Bro. Morris. The installation of officers was made very impressive by the use of the new ritual. The installing officers, P.C.R. Bro. G. Wildish, and P.C.R. Bro. G. C. Munns, installing the Chief Ranger-elect—Bro. W. J. A. Morris, who installed the remaining officers. P.C.R. Bro. Geo. Wildish spoke at some length, and congratulated the Court on its splendid advance in membership and its prowess on the athletic field. It was decided to adopt the Auckland ritual, and also to write to the High Court for any further rituals. P.C.R. Bro. E. File then presented the retiring Chief Ranger, Bro. A. W. Hambling, with a framed certificate and a nock ribbon. In the course of his speech, he congratulated Bro. Hambling on the splendid progress made while he was Chief Ranger, and hoped that with his advancement to the position of Immediate Past Chief Ranger lie would serve the Court as faithfully ns before. Bro. Hambling suitably responded. Four candidates were proposed as members for tlie Court, and were in structed tc» attain! next meeting might for initiation. Next meeting will start nt 7 p.m., in order to assist the ladies in a euchre tournament.
