At. a special meeting of the Cook Hospital Board on Thursday afternoon il was decided to accept the tender of Messrs. Webb Bros, for the erection of ibe new Old People's Home at. a cost of £11,680, this being the lowest of live tenders received. The contract was signed up this morning, and work, it is understood, will start almost immediately.

Other tenderers were : Ge6\ Smith £13.866, Ceo. Aitken, £15,217; A. Kirk £15,410; T. Haisman, £15.930. The only tenderer for the tiled rot. was Ceo. Aitken at £IO7O. and this was also accented.
