ANNUAL REPORT OF YEAR’S WORK, 1928-24.

The winter session began its work on April 10 by an opening service, conducted by the Vicar, there being n good attendance. The annual meeting was hold on April .10, after the service. The following officers and committee wore elected for tin* year: —President, Miss E. Davies; vicepresidents, Misses I. Crawford and AL Fairlie; committee, Atisses AL Harris, O. Wilson, P. Price, G. Gillman, A. Greaves, AL Batv, E. Oxenhnm, G. Findlay; lion, secretary, Aliss I. Kohn. Important muttons wen* discussed, namely, the division of the club into senior and junior branches, or the raising of the ngo of admission to IS years. The latter was enthusiastically decided upon, as there was little wish among members to make a division of the club. During the year Aliss G. Findlay was appointed assistant secretary, and Aliss P. Price again kindly undertook the duties of supper secretary. On An/.ne Day the members of the club attended the unveiling of the soldiers’ memorial and helped ns collectors. Tn the afternoon several girls wont out with ■wreaths to the memorial service at soldiers’ plot, Taruheru Cemetery. The club evenings during the year were varied by sewing, music, socials, and a euchre tournament. Lectures were given by the Vicar, Dr. .Stalcv, Airs. Townsend, and Deaconess Esther Brand. Several members were married during the year and had the use of the bridal arch. The monthly corporate Communion.have been fnirlv well attended. On July .10 n service of admission was held for members, five girls being admitted. At this service Ihe Vicar preached oil ‘“Vocation.” Our sale ol work took the form of a shop day. and was held on October (i, the takings being £BS Is Sd. A dance was held on July 12, it being the eighth anniversary of the club, the funds lying augmented by over £2O. Owing to a very uncomfortable and cold clubroom, stops were taken to consider ways and means of procuring bettor quarters, but after discussion with the Vestry, it was considered bettor to wait and build. Since then the Girls’ Club, in conjunct ion with the Voting Aten’s Club, have agreed to pay interest on the club buildings raised, and we hope before long to lie in much more comfortable rooms. In the winter a prayer circle was formed for the coming spiritual healing mission, and was led by the President every Tuesday evening, and a good number of earnest members attended it. On October 18 a number of the girls attended the spiritual healing mission as workers in the rest room. The members felt they were greatly privileged waiting on the sick and suffering Pakehas and Afaoris, and Dial day .-.'ill live long in their memories as one of the greatest days of their lives. We wisti to tender our grateful thanks lo our Vicar for his fatherly counsel and help to us at nil times, to Air. Redwurd, mil treasurer, who is such :i help to us with the accounts, and tn Air. J. Knowles, verger, for his help lo the club, also to the Holy Trinity Young Men’s Club for their help on many occasions. The club broke up for the summer mouths on November 18. They resume their work again early in the year.
