ACCIDENT AT MATAWHERO.
'CAB CRASHES INTO POLE. TWO PEOPLE INJURED. A serious motor accident occurred near Matawhoro yesterday, when a "car, driven by Mr. W. G. Taylor, collided with, a telegraph pole, breaking the polo and bringing down the Wires. The. car was badly smashed about, the Radiator being wrecked, and the -wind.scrcQn broken. The engine was also badly damaged. ( .« * The occupants were fortunate in escaping with minor injuries. Mrs. a.Maori lady, who was a passenger in the car, received a number of cuta and bruises, and suffered from shock. She was admitted to. the Cook Hospital, where enquiry this afternoon elicited the information that she was getting along nicely. Another lady who was in the car received a number of cuts, but went to her home after receiving medical attention. Mr. W. 'O. Taylor, the driver of the car, received a nasty cut on the knee, and is also suffering from shock. He was admitted to the Lister.hospital, where ho is progressing satisfactorily.
