MADRID, August 23. Operations by 25,000 men relieved the besieged garrison at Tifaruin. The enemy was completely defeated with enoa'iuous losses.

In connection with the Alhuccmas fighting, some loyal natives captured by the Ardelkrim were burned alive in trenches to .terrorise their comrades.

An official communique states that a section of the Qarellano regiment mutinied at Malaga, the men objectihg to orders to embark for Melilla. The ringleaders fired at the : officers, one of whom was killed. Troops eventually persuaded them to embark. Tho ringleaders will be court-martialled
