The House met at 1.30 p.m. Mr. McCombs presented a petition against the House proceeding with tho Religious Exercises in Schools Bill introduced by Mr. Isitt,. replying to Air. iiaiian, who mentioned that a number of traders in Otago felt at a disadvantage through being unable to obtain a certain brand of flour, owing to the a> lion of distributors, the Minister of Customs said the matter had already been inquired into, and it ha i been asiertained that the Hour men tioned couid l:e obtained if reasonable notice were given:. The Minister said he hoped to got ib Rcard of Tr-ndei reconstituted, so that it would have power to investigate s- b matters.
