CHARGE AGAINST YOUNG MAN

A remarkable case, in which a young man is alleged to havo posed as a doctor at Te Kauvvhata, has been revealed as the result of-the arrest of IrcdencK MeCtennan on charges of breaking tho terms of hia probation for false pretences. It U stated that McClennan,treated numerous influenza cases, it is said successfully, with brandy and quinine I-or-ttmatelv he did not venture into the realms of more complicated medical healing, although he is said to haw set a broken limb successfully. McClcnnan.s arrest, came as the result of an inquest into a shooting fatality, at which he appeared in a medical capacity, Subsequently inquiries led to police action. Accused will appear in Court to-morrow-Later • At the Police Court Fredcnek Walter MacLennan, who had posed as a registered medical practitioner at le 'Kouwhata, was charged with a breach of his sentence of three years' probation for false pretences. Ho was remanded for one week in custody.
