HUNTLY, July". 7.—A serious accident occurred on tho Baynor's road level crossing this week. The view is badly obscured on both hands approaching this crossing from, the west, i'.nd on one hand approaching from tho cast.

Jus? as tho Rotorua express was due, an employee of Mr. G. Knight was ridbig alpng Raynor's road, and, not. observing the approaclung train, rod;* right on to tho metals in front'of Ihe engine. Having, no lime to do anything else, lib threw himself off the horse, and escaped personal injury, but Hie horse was caught by the engine and instantly killed.

Several accidents have occurred here, fortunately without fatal results.
