At the-Arbitration Court sitting here to consider an application'by the Marlborough : ; Shearers' and a Shed "Hands' Union for,an. award conterning.the rates of pay,'hours, etc., .for. shearers -in the. coming season,' after hearing evidence, his Honor, said 'it. was agreed in Wellington that, no local award should be decided on'tilf-tho Court had gone, as far as Christchui'ch and Otago. Tho question could.then be decided whether tho parties would be prepared to take a local award or a. Dominion award. A further opportunity would be given to discuss an award * then. In the meantime the Court, would not deal .with-the shearing dispute in the Auckland district.
