MOUNT SOMERS ACCIDENT.
CAUSE OF TRAIN BEING DERAILED. ASHBURTON, July 6.—The Railway Department states tliat the Mount Somers derailment on Juno 15 was dire to the failure of the? railway staff to couple the WestinghoUse brake connection throughout the whole train. ; A mixed train from Springburn, with • 60 passengers, was derailed after passing Valetta, -10 miles from Ashburton, on Juno 15tli. There were no serious injuries. From some cause the train parted, and two carriages and a van first,ran off the lino, and a third carriage broke away later.
