FLIGHT ROUND WORLD.
SIR KEITH SMITH'S PLANS
POSTPONEMENT FOR TEAK
LONDON, April 27.—Sir Keith Smith, who has joined the Vickers aviation staff, expects to make a business trip to the Far East and: Australia. lie has postponed his world flight until 1924, as the aeroplane has not been completed, and April 26 is the lateut date on which it would be wise to begin the flight in time to avoid the Indian monsoons and' Japanese typhoons'. The Atlantic section must be 1 attempted in June of July. It is absolutely essential that the trip be successful, because a second! failure would db great harm to commercial flying generally.
People who are watching the progress of aviation ask: "If expert aviators crash, is flying safe for passengers?" A big air crash always deters many passengers intending to take short flights, such as from London to Paris. Sir Keith Smith is determined to obtain for the British Empire the honor of tlie first flight round the world. '
