HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

The weekly meeting of the Poverty Ray Hockey Association was held last night. Mr. A. P. Stubbings presided over the following delegates : Miss Woodrow, and Messrs. Gracie, Sim, HenderFi>n, (!. File. Doolan, Smale, Morris, Howell, and Clark.

■ In view of the High School vacatiqn, it was decided to postpone until a later date all matches m which the High School teams are drawn to play. A sub-committee, comprising Messrs. Morris, Cass in, Doolan, Henderson, and File, was appointed to make initial arrangements for tho annual seven-a-side tournament to be held'on King's Birthday. 'Entries for .this tournnnicht are to Ive in the secretary's hands not later than May 28tln On the recommendation of the selectors, it was resolved that on the completion of each round of matches that trial games be bold.

In view of' the necessity of choosing early representative teams, it was considered that this would give selectors an opportunity to judge tho merits of players. This scheme will bo initiated i.ext. Thursday by an A v. B trial" match. Tho following are tho teams selected to play:-—A team (all white): Buckingham, Atkinson, Morris, Roots, Fitzmaurice, Du ns tone, McMurrav, McLaughlin,: Roderick, Billclitf, and Twigley; emergencies, T File, A. File, and Smith. B team (Foresters’ colors): J. Hill. H. File, Venables, Gracie, Lockart, Turbitt, Sparks,.. Doolan, Armstrong, Doyle, and Gray; emergencies, Piosse, .Miller, Jlewitson, and File. ■ Foresters’ colors will lie available on tho ground from Mr. W. J. Morris.

The protest from Foresters’ Club agajnst tho Mercantile Club for playing an unregistered player was discussed at length. It was eventually decided, on tho motion of a Mercantile member, to declare the match null and void. Tho following fixtures were made : Thursday.—Ladies: Kin. Ton- v. Allies, ,at 3.15 pan.; referees, Messrs, Stubbings and Roderick. Allies, a bvc. • Men.—Senior: A f.il, trial match, at 2.15 p.m.; referees, Messrs. Stubbings and Henderson. Junior.—Wacrenga-a-hikn v. Defence B, at. Waerqnga-a-liika.; referee, Mr. Sim. Defence Av. C, at 1.15 p.m.; referees, Messrs. Armstrong and Gracie. Saturday.—Ladies: Y.W.O.A. v. Kia Ton, 2.15 p.m.; referees, Messrs. Duncan and Henderson. Rovers, a. bye. Civil Service v. Mercantile, 3.15 p.m.; referees, Messrs. Duncan and Henderson. Y.M.C.A. , a bye. All matches, unless otherwise, stated, are to be played on the Reserve, and must begin promptly to stated time.
