HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
The weekly meeting of the P.B. Hockey Association was held last night, when Mr. A. N. Stubbings presided over a. good attendance of delegates. It being found impossible to start a ladies' junior competition, it was decided to admit the High School B team in the ladies' Thursday consideration of this team being'composed entirely of new and young players, it was decided to give them a handicap of three goals per match on the understanding that they will not be competitors for the championship cup. It was thought that by thus encouraging young players a number of recruits would be gained who otherwise would be lost to the game. A report was received from the committee handling the formation of the men's junior competition. It was stated that a Defence Club had been formed with three teams, to bo known as Defence A. v B. and C. teams;.also one team from Waerenga-a-hika ' Boys' College. This competition will commence on Thursday next.
Affiliation was granted to the Motuh'ora ladies' club, and also to Modi men.
; It was decided that the resuscitated Hockey Referees' Association bo granted a delegate on the executive. Mr. D. Mi Grade is to act in this position. The matter of a protest from the Foresters' Club in regard to their match against Mercantile last Thursday was deferred until next meeting, in order to give the Mercantile Club sufficient time to prepare their defence. It was decided to limit all competitors to three rounds. ./ :■
