The Merchant Shipping Advisory Commit lee’s report regarding life-saving appliances on passenger steamships recommends that beats, sufficient, for all aboard, should be carriedl ns far as possible without, encumbering the clicks or impeding the prompt handling of lifeboats. Where this cannot he done, the deficient accommodation should be met by means of a light buoyant apparatus. In any case, in addition to- boat accommodation for all, light buoyant apparatus should bet provided for 25 per cent', of those aboard, and also motor boats with wireless should he carried :i'u certain cases.
