SUCCESS' OF CITIZENS’ TICKET

A feature of the municipal elections was the success of what is known as the Citizens’ ticket. Thirteen out of 15 councillors vrerei returned on this, all Hospital Board members but oife Labor man, and' all tliei Harbor Board) members. WAIPUKURAU, last night. Mr. E. A. Goodger bag been re-elect-edl Mayor unopposed. Of eight candidates. for the Council; Messrs Turner, McClean, Leigh, Byfovd, Warren, and Marker were elected. Tho loan proposal to build a municipal theatre at a cost of £14,000 was carried by 176 to 150. A poll on the statutory half-holiday resulted: Saturday 361, Wednesday 297.
