FIERCE STORM IN SYDNEY.
MUCH DAMAGE DONE
A violent storm passed ovo'r Sydney on tho evening of March 20, doing considerable damage and causing not a little alarm. Tho storm was accompanied by continuous thunder and lightning of the very worst type. The whole harbor at times seemed to be lit up, and immedi ately the lightning would disappear, terrific thunder followed. A number of suburbs were plunged into darkness. Several trams, a church, and some of the tramway signal boxes were struck by lightning, and a tram car was derailed in one of the city streets. The trains on the suburban linos were' delayed. While passing tho General Post Office when ' the lightning and thunder were particularly ses'ere, a woman collapsed and fell heavily to the pave mont. A number of bystanders came to her assistance. After receiving attention she appeared* little the worse for her ‘ experience.
