At the wool sales a splendid selection of merinos was offered. All good wools were fully firm, inferiors irregular, and crossbreds unchanged. Bradford quotations were firm and unchanged, the tone being slightly more confident, but business is still very quiet. SALES AT DUNEDIN. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, last night. ’ The third wool sale of the season opened here to-day, 21,334 bales being submitted, and §5 per cent, being sold. Competition was keen, especially for halfbrcds, threc-quarterbreds, and fine crossbreds. Compared with last sale prices were: Merinos, 10 to 15 per cent lower; super halfbrcds, par to 5 per cent, higher; medium to low lialfbreds, 5 to 10 per cent, higher; fine crossbreds, 5 to 10 per cent. lower; coarser, 74 to 124 per cent, lower; pieces and bellies, par to 5 per cent, lower; One bale of super merino, shorn from rams imported from Victoria, brought 30d per lb.
