YACHTSMEN IN AUSTRALIA'.
SYDNEY. Dec. 28—With the object of encouraging yachtsmen and owners of motor-boats to become, of use tor their country in Cime of war, the Naval Board has given.authority for the formation-of a new voluntary reserve, ten be known as the Narrow. Waters Corps. . , The duties of the Narrow Waters, Corps will be to become, p.roficienti .in'all the methods by which small craft, including high-powered - motor-boats, may bo used in protecting the local defences in war time. It will operate in narrow waters, and on the coast. \ ' '. M ,'.'•',. The training of, the corps' will include the use of depth charges, hydrophones, and all anti-submarine devices; care and attendance of mine fields and enemy detecting arrangements of all types'; the acquisition of the interesting andl scientific knowledge of the various problems connected with local defence, war equipment and manning; and the running of high or lower-powered craft in all conditions. Yachtsmen and' motor-boat owners are entering enthusiastically into the scheme.
