The Auckland Herald reports :—The rsual winter preference for maize is causing more to sell, and the good 1 stoeksi of old grain now in store are beiug freely drawn upon. . Value is about 4s 10d' to 5s on the wharf in wholesale lines, but the market is likely to be slightly disturbed by the new grain arriving. A little is already here, but it looks of a quality that must be sold 1 at once. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received /the following cablegram from their , London house: Butter: New Zealand 220 s to 224 s per cwt. Market quiet. Cheese, 90s to 96s per cwt. Market quiet.- •
