COMMENTS ON CONDITIONS IN IRELAND, (Per Press Association.! ACUKLAND, this, day. 'The annual session of tho- Loyal Orange Institution of New-Zealand wus preceded by a session of■•the Provincial Black Chapter of Ireland, the provincial grand master, Rev. Knowles Smith, presiding. He said the past- year was a memorable one. Ulster Protestants had faced changes: .involved in tho British Government’s proposals with the true spirit and an earnest desire to:cooperate in all measures leading to the peace and prosperity of their land/ As far as the Knights of Ireland were concerned the utmost would be done and given to help their brethren .across sen. bet- them make.known, them‘need and tho New .Zealand Knights ’ would' prove to the full the real bond of brotherhood lie expressed the belief that “the causo of Protestantism would be carried forward to a complete victory against the disintegrating forces now prominent.” He emphasised Hip necessity for a ■ greater organisation of Protestant- voters in view of the general election in this Dominion. It was decided 1 to overture other Protestant associations for very united action at tho polls.
