The national swimming championships concluded on Saturday in splendid vent her, n.nd in the presence of a large attendance.
The principal event, the 440 yards' jhnmpionship, was von by Cunold (Auckland), with Bachelor (Canterbury) second, and Olaridge (Wellington) third, liie time was 4.44 4-5, a New Zealand ceord.
In her heat in the 100 yards ladies’ race, Aliss Hoeft-, scratch, covered the Instance in 64 3-ssec, said to be within Fanny Du rack’s best time. Aliss Walrond, Bsec, and Alias Mather swam a lead! heat? in the final.
100 yards’ intermediate boys’ cliamnonship: Fairgrny (Auckland) 1, Bachelor (Canterbury) 2, Claridge (Wellington) 3. Time, 62 2-5, a New Zealand record.
