DEATH OF YOUNG DOCTOR. 'Per Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, last nigld. At an inquest concerning*, the death of Dr. J. S. Westwaler, the young medical officer at Queen Maty Hospital, Hamper, who was found shot, a verdict was returned that death occurred through a gunshot wound 1 , but there was no evidence to prove whether Lite wound was accidental or self-inflicted. Dr. Chisholm, superintendent of the hospital, said deceased had never seemed depressed or complained of any illness. Di\ Baxter gave lengthy testimony as lo the working of the automatic gun found lying near deceased. Weslwatei was an e.wnaval surgeon, and saw service in H.ALS. Swift, the famous destroyer. He had been on the staff .of the Military Hospital, Trentham, and relieving at Ha tuner. He was married, his wife residing in the North Island.
