The Sunday Express states that Gerard Bevan, chairman of the City Equitable Fire Insurance Co., left London on Wednesday, and his whereabouts are unknown. His wife states that her husband has gone abroad under doctor's orders. Bevan had a remarkably successful financial career in the city until 1919. He is a director of numerous companies. He belongs to a family of I lie highest financial repute. His deceased father was formerly chairman of a bank, and lie has relatives occupying prominent financial positions. He married a niece of Mr Joseph Chamberlain.
