A conference of sixteen unions affiliated to the Australian Labor Party has been convened to consider the action of the executive in connection with the endorsement of Mr. McGirr for the Sydney seat. This will he followed by a conference of all unions, and prominent officials declare that unless Mi - . McGirr’s selection is endorsed industrialists will break away and ask Mr. McGirr to lead the Labor party independent of the present party.
