A Labor member of the Douse of Commons lias "introduced an Illegitimacy Hill, proposing drastic amendments to the law, including provision that affiliation application may be made before a child's birth, that the maximum weekly maintenance be £2. that a father may be ordered to contribute towards the cost of apprenticeship and special education, and that maintenance may be ordered beyond the age of 16 if the child is physically or mentally deformed, or in the alternative, that a Court may order the payment of a lump sum if a child be legitimised by subsequent marriage oi" tho parents.
