SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLICY.
PREMIER’S POLICY SPEECH. ADELAIDE. March 9. Mr. Bara tell, in a policy speech, said the uncompromising attitude of the Government towards direct action had had most unsatisfactory results. The financial position of the State was sound, but the outlook was discouraging. The oublic debt had increased • during •. the last three years by £600,000; Although he was arranging in London for a loan his policy was to borrow in Australia. It was proposed to increase the salaries of members from £2OO to £4OO annually, that of the Premier to £ISOO, and other Ministers to £I2OO.—U.P.A.
