CROSSBRED WOOL.
POOL SCHEME’ DEFERRED. ' MELBOURNE, Feb. 22.—Proposals -that have been made for the crossbred woo! pool - arc not to be put into opera-* lion to deal with the current clip. •Mr E. Jovvctt,’M.H.R., who is chairman of the Growers’ Committee, staled to day that a workable scheme, which had commended itself to all wool-grow-ers who could be consulted, .and had met, with tho apprbval of financial authorities, had been put forward by tho committee.- Since the pool was to be a voluntary one, it would be necessary to obtain the individual undertakings of the- great majority of growers to put their wool into the scheme. As this could not be done tins season, there was no. chance• of forming a pool of tho present clip.
