EMPLOYMENT IN NEW YORK.

MELBOURNE, Feb. 22.—A number of Australians, some of them ex-soldiers, have recently reported to have been stranded in New York. The Australian Commissioner (Mr. Mark Sheldon) advises the Minister for Home and Territories that he had been able to secure passages to Australia for several as seamen, but warns others who may contemplate going to America that it is most difficult at the. present time to secure employment in New York.
