LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS.
The local body elections in connection with the Cook, Waikohu, and Uawa County Councils, and the Hauiti riding representative on the Tolaga Harbor Board were conducted to-day In ideal weather. The Gisborno booth for all these bodies was in the Cook County office, ana Mr. H. M. Porter was in charge of the booth dealing with the Cook County Council, and Mr. Chas. Perry had charge of the booth Tn" connection wilh the Uawa County. A fair amount of interest was manifested in the Uawa elections, when the number of the local voters was considered. The election is for representatives of the Hauiti, Araklhi, and Tolaga ridings on the Uawa Council, and a renresentative for the Hauiti riding on the Tolaga Harbor Board. The other members on both bodies were elected unopposed. Mr. Porter's booth was being visited hy a good number of voters, particularly between the hours of noon and 2 p.m., tb record their vote in connection with the election of the representatives of the Pouawa and Pakarae ridings on the Cook • County Council and also the representatives of the following ridings for the Waikohu County Council: Kanakanaia. Karaka, Mangatu, Motu, and' Waihuka. The polling closes at 6 p.m.
