Home, the latter si;g nested; that committees of miners and coal owners should discuss wages anomalies. Mr. Smillie, replying, rejected Sir R. Home's views and suggestions, and maintained tlife attitude that price reduction, of 14s 2 ( J was inseparable ' from wages claims. After he had expressed the miners' views at length the miners' executive sat separately to consider the points raised. They in.tima.ted to Sir R. Home that there was no new proposal in his statement which they considered, would lead to a satisfactory settlement of tlieir claims. The confer-i ence sat nearly three hours.— -Reuter.
