It is unofficially stated that the Government has decided to impose a- tax on racecourse admission tickets, Avhich is expected to .realise a revenue qf a quarter of a million annually. (Received Sept. 11, 9.20 a.m.) " SYDNEY, 'Sept 11. With reference to allegations that attempts made .in Australia to inquire into the operation of the No Temere decree have been frustrated, the Rev. Professor Miclntyre, secretary of the Committee of Protestant Churches, which dealt with the subject, explains that the only matter the committee concerned them-selves-with was that the New South I Wales State authorities should not, as they have been doing in some instances, register mixed marriages where the ceremony wns again performed at the. instigation of Catholic priests. Their, efforts resulted in. the Attorney-General issuing regulations against such registration unless there was reasonable doubt as to the validity of the first ceremony. '
