TE KARAKA COURT.
The monthly sitting of the Magistrate's Court was held *ifc Te Karaka today, Mr J. S. Barton presiding. The police were represented by Contable Leckie, and the legal fraternity By Messrs L. T. Burnard Ci. Stock and J . It. Kirk. , ' Hini'Wj Pere was charged with having on or about July 23, afc Arowhana station, stolen a gold wristlet watch, a crepe-dd-chene blouse, n. white voile costume, and i a pair- of patent leather shoes, of the total value of £19, the property of Lizzie Walker. Accused was convicted and discharged, tin order 'bring mticlo for tho return of the stolon goods. ■Robert Stockbridgo Was charged with thft theft on or about July 11, at Knitaratahi, of two totara strainer-posts, valued at £4, the properly of the cstato of the late Georgo Scott. Defendant was convicted and fined 10s, and ordered to pay costs amounting to 10s 9d. William Henry Brown, charged With tailing to scud his child . regularly to school, undertook to see that attendance was more regular m future. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called, upon. A similar charge was preferred against Tohn Lloyd, who was fined 5s and costs £2 9s. A charge of having been drunk anl disorderly, on August 11, at Motuhoro, was made against Lionel deLautour. A fm^ of £1, with costs 7s, was awarded. On 1 a second charge of having, on the Karne dato, nssa.iUcd Chas. Thornton, by kicking him, defendant was convicted and fined £2, with costs £3 7s 6d. Judgment by default was given for tho nlalntiiY m the following civil cases:— John Thomas Cassidy v. Sonny Rum, £11 Is 6d, and costs £2 0a 6d; Gregory v. Kwere Pura,.£l2 9a Id, and costs £2 3s 6d.
