HOCKEY TOURNAMENT.
Thc weekly meet Ing of the Poverty Bay Hockey Association was Held last nignt. The following delegates were In attendance: Mr. G. Buscke (chairman), Miss I. Parker, Messrs. Cassin, Paltridge, Duncan, Henderson, Ogilvie,- Sim,-.- AsKton, and the secretary (Mr. A. Stubbing-) Letters from the New Zealand Ladies' Ilgckey Association, and Munawatu; Wairarapa, "Canterbury, Auckland aiid Hawke's Bay ' Ladies' Hockey Associations vyere read and received: Billeting arrangeirients will be considcrd at a special meeting to be held on Wednesday night. Thc chairman's and secretary's action was endorsed regarding a slight alteration of the tournament programme, B, section to open on Monday, September G. The secretary reported that the following boat arrangements were expected to be followed' out by visiting teams to the tournament: The Auckland team would reach Gisborne on- 'Wednesday, September Ist, and on the 3rd Manawatu, Hawke's 3ay and Canterbury, and the last batch, Wellington. Waxrarapa, and -Wanganui, .vould arrive on Saturday, September 4th-. It was reported that this procedure of splitting up accommodation on the steamer was necessary, owing to the Union Company being unable to " cope with all the ladies m one trip of the Vmhura. The following programme wafe * submitted by the Entertainment- Commitee for tournament week: Saturday night, Inals of competition; Sunday, motor ' rips; Monday, executive's official welcome, Savages to assist; Tuesday,-, Emergency Club night for ladies; Wednesday, free light; Thursday, tournament ball m Garrison Hall (public). Mrs. Buscke (chaperone) and Messrs. Buscke and Stubbings were apopinted to meet the Coast representative team on arrival. Mr.. O. R. Olsen was appointed to deliver a blackboard lecture to players at 1 7.30 to-night m the Holy Trinity €hurch. A rep. * match between Tokomaru Bay and Poverty Bay (A) has been arranged for Thursday next, to be played ,m the reserve at 3 p.m., when Messrs. . Stubbings and Sim will referee. The team to play Tokomaru Bay comprises: Goalkeeper, N. .Gallagher; full backs,' L. Lynex (cap*ain) and R. Solvandev; halves, I. Robb, G. Fanning and A. Bilham; forwards7N. . Kay; F. Hill (vice-captain). K. Ilei. A. riei and M. Ferguson: emergencies; R. Benson, N. Fail-lie and G. Bilham. Colors, all red. The B team chosen by the selectors comprise the following: Mrs. Morrison;, Misses 6. Newey and E. Croon, Mrs. >efton, and Miss M. Graham (Te Karaka) Misses E. Hepburn, o. Paltridge, I. Jones' F. Solvander, I. Goldihg, Priestley, Lysnar, Dixie, and two players to be selected from Coast reps. , The members of the B team can. receive he material for their uniforms from Miss Ferguson. ■
