The secretary was instructed to arrange a retbrn representative 'match, Poverty Bay"~v. Waikohu, to be played- at Te Karaka on Saturday, August 28. Mr J. O'Neill -was' appointed manager of the team, and a grant of £5 was made by the Union toward the expenses of the trip. The secretary reported that the final arrangements had been made for the representative match, Poverty Bay . v. Tokomaru Bay, which was set for Thursday, 26th inst. The schools had offeredto play a curtain-raiser for the match, the competing teams being Primary Schools" representative team v. High School team. The offer was gratefully accepted. • Permission was granted for school representative matches on. No. 1 ground on Monday, August 30, and Wednesday, September 2, subject to the approval of thc Borough Council, these being the dates on which the Napier School team will •be visiting Gisborne. Telegraphic advice received from 7 the Hastings Sub-Union stated that that bod>; had found it impossible to arrange a team to visit Gisborne for a fepresenta-. tive match on Saturday next, owing to difficulty of the shipping. The wire was received with regret. The following fixtures were decided:— Thursday, August 26: Senior rep. match —Tokomaru v. Poverty Bay, Reserve No. 1 ground, at 3 p.m. Curtain-raiser—Prim-ary School representatives v. High School team. Reserve No. 1 ground, 1.30 p.m. 'Saturday, August. 2B: Senior representative match— Waikohu v. Poverty Bay, at Te Karaka, 3 p.m. Challenge match— Gisborne High School v. Poverty Ray junior representatives, No. 1 ground, 3 p.m. Third grade semi-final— Kaiti-City v. High School, No. 1 ground, 1.30 p.m.
