PARLIAMENTARY NEWS.
, BUDGET ON TUESDAY. WELLINGTON, this day. Parliament has worked short hours, but finds no difficulty in disposing of the few comparatively unimportant Government measures which have been introduced. The order paper is remarkably bare, though Ministerial assurances have steadily indicated plenty of work shortly. The Municipal Corporations Act has been referred to a special committee, which meets on Wednesday, when it is understood that something like one hundred amendments will be submitted by the Minister in charge. The Budget is definitely promised for Tuesday. This will doubtless loosen the Ministerial hold on the Government policy secrets, and be followed by Bills indicating the real programme of the ; session. The debate on the Samoan labor policy is anticipated this week.— Parliamentary Reporter. .
