j By "F. T.L." The P.B. representative team lo comLpete for the Brown shield is one which comprises some really good exponents of the art of soccer. ! Watson (Waipaoa), while a new player in this district, has shown great promise during the season in his work between tin' sticks. Wallace (Waipaoa) is a powerful left back, with a very strong kick, mid a good tackier. Ciardner (Y.M.), as right back, is a cool and safe player. He is clever with his head ami sure with his feet. Hanna (Gisborm), right half back, is one of the best players in the district, and is clever, clean and fast, and gives consideration to the forwards. P. Roots (Hovers) is captain of the team, and admirably -fills the position of centre-half. He was include? in the Wellington reps, on two or three occasions. He has a powerful kick and is a clever tackier. Kirkness (Gisborne), as left half-back, is an ex-Otago rep. player jimd has shown great improvement, during the season. Shelton (Waipaoa) has played as outside light for his club this season, and has shown good form, and is well worth his place in the rep. team jn this position. He is clever at centring. Third (Gisborne), as inside right, is' an old Christchurch player with considerable speed, and clever in his foot work. Kelly (Gisborne), as centre, is the youngest member of the team. He was a prominent Rugby ite last season, and was in the rep. team for Poverty Bay on several occasions. He is quite worth his position and his quick work and fitness make him a player of promise. Shield (Gisborne), as inside left, was a P.B. rep. in 1914-, and js always in his position ready to make the most of an opportunity. Downie (Taruheru) is also a 1914 rep. player, and as outside, left will be able to play to advantage in this rep. team. He shows good form in both head work and feet manipulation. F. Sharp, as reserve, is a capable player, and he will act in a. dual capacity as manager of •the team as well as a player. I Livingstone, as. the other emergency, is a vigorous forward with good tackling qualities. j The Canterbury team meets Wellington on Saturday next, and Poverty Bay will meet the winners at Wellington about a fortnight later.
