Protest meetings have- been held at seaside resorts, abo by metropolitan members" of tho House of Commons, who especially complain tagahist the increase checking the August holiday traffic. Pressure on tho Government is so strong that it is likely ■■to -'defer the date of increase '■•_ from August Ito September 1.
