THE LABOR CANDIDATE.
Mr. T. Brindle, the Labor candidate for the Gisborne seat, met his committee and a number of supporters in the Labor Council's Chambers last evening. Mr. D. W. Coleman presided, and gave .a short account of work done since commencing the campaign. Mr. Brindle, who was enthusiastically received, ga.ve a short address, briefly explaining the attitude he purposed taking. He stated he was- not going to in the least apologise for anything the Labor Party had done, but rather to defend it and explain to the people Labor's position. He felt -that when the people understood Labor's principles and policy they would realise that the Labor Party wan the only party that could have their confidence. After the .candidate's address, general business in connection with the campaign, was arranged. Mr. Brindle will give his first public address this evening, in His Majesty's Theatre. His Worshio the Mayor will preside. • Mr T. Brindle. will address a meeting at Kaiti works to-morrow at noon, and at Matawhero at 8 n.m. Mr R. Cogar has been appointed orpaniser for the Labor Party's* campaign.
