FARMERS' UNION.
. __«„ The monthly meeting of the New Zealand Farmers' -Union, Poverty Bay sub provincial district, was held this afternoon, when there were present :, Messrs. C. H. Bridge (m the chair), C. Hardy.. W. McLean, A. Macallum, and R. Hensen. The election of officers was the first matter dealt with, and on the motion oi Mr. W. McLean, seconded by the Rev. H. Ward, Messrs. W. McLean and C. .1. Holdsworth were appointed vicepresidents ; treasurer, Mr. G. J. Bla-ck ; delegate, 'Sir. J. C. Field ; auditor, Mr. If. E. Dodd. Iv connection with the shed hands' and shearers' demands, the chairman pointed out that a deadlock had been reached, both parties" being adamant, and the matter has been referred to the Arbitration Court.
