The strike outlook lias improved. A compromise has been reached m several industries. In others the workers, including coal miners, shop assistants, and clothiers,, have secured their demands and returned to work. The metal workers, transporters, and railwaymen are unruly. TMany 'troops have been drafted m as a precautionary measure, and overawed their meetings. Laundry and electrical .-wjbrkers have joined the strike. .-•'-.'■-■
