LEVIN, this day. The death occurred yesterday of Major John. laddie, aged 86, one of the few remaining Crimean veterans^ He served with the Royal Scots' Greys, and was m the charge of the Heavy Brigade at Balaclava* he was also at Inkerman and the siege of Sebastopool. He was decorated m the field for distinguished conduct. He also held the Crimean medal, three clasps, and the Turkish medal.
