LONDON, April 12.— There will pos : sibly be a tobacco war^ in the future. Au American syndicate is .making /a big effort to break the tobacco combine' in England, 'it is assisted by the fact that the British machinery', largely purchased iu America, became so dilapidated during the war that its output has considerably diminished. The American syndicate also' holds the large Virginia leaf markets. The Imperial Tobacco Com- : pany's profit for the year was £3,825,266.
