CHRISTIANIA. Dec. 13—rThe Storting (Parliament) has decided to send the President of the Iceland Allting (local Parliament) a telegram congratulating Iceland on regaining her independence. • Iceland, the latest addition to the list of independent States m Europe, has an area of 40,000. square miles (four-fifths that of England) but a population of only 85,000, so that it will be the least populous .independent country m Europe. Since the fourteenth century Iceland has been a. Danish, dependency, .though, since 1904 -it has had a" Minister of 'its own, residing at the capital, the little wooden town of Reykjavik.
