OVER 200 GUNS CAPTURED,
EXTENSION OF THE LINES
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association., (Reuter's Telegram.) LONDON, Sept. 16. An American official message states : — In the St. Mihiel sector there was increased artillery and aviation activity. The enemy counter-attacked near St. Hilare and was easily repulsed. A num. bar of prisoners were taken on the left bank of the Moselle. Our lines have been advanced one to two miles, and now include the towns of Vilcey, Norroy, and Normal. The extension of our lines beyond Jaulny resulted m bringing m 72 additional guns, which had been abandoned by the enemy m his hasty retreat. This brings the total of guns captured to over 200.
