-.•, OPERA HOUSE. i "Tbe Dark Road" is to be shown at the Opera House to-night. This is \fi story oi a siren and a terrible retribution. Oriental draperies, rare pottery, mystic ornaments, massive carved images, all. combine to **niake a scene of barbaric splendor of the apartments of the * woman who worships Cleopatra, thinking that she i$ a mo'dern re-incarnatiori of that wanton queen. She is simply, however, a vain woman to whom the love, and admiration of men is all-compelling. Miss Dalton contributes a ; vivid delineation. Devoid of ideals and all sense of honor, Ihe woman, when her husband* goes to lake part in the war, makes love to 'his younger brother. Later the lad responds to his country's need, so sne turns; to a man who is really a spy for (Germany. Cleo is infatuated with him, and through her indiscretion he obtains news pertaining to the movements of the English. Capt. Murison learns of his Wife's duplicity and returns to. tnke re-., venge. The following .films will also be shown: "A Journey t'o Nowhere" (Vita-' graph comedy), "Some Pretty Species of Warblers" (Pathe colored educational), I Pathe Gazette, and ''A Bachelor's Finish" j (Keystone comedy). Seats, may be reserved at Miller's corner. - x EVERYBODY'S. "The Russian Revolution" will be ihe featured production at Everybody's tonight, and promises to be of deepest interest. High enterprise was shown by the Bio Company when it obtained special permission to film the events of the Russian Revolution from Kerensky himself. The cameraman's task was no enviable one, as he traversed the storm-tossed capital of Russia, obtaining one scene after another of the great rising. Snamensky Square, where the first shot was fired, is one of the early scenes, and then the fights between the armored cars of the revolutionists and the police. The Czar's palace ' with its coat of. arms covered with the. red favors of the movement is shown, and the great Moscovsky and Alexandra Nevsky police stations are discovered, wrecke'd and smashed by the populace. Kerensky Is shown addressing tlle huge convention which assembled after the first success. Other,. Russian notables who were prominent at the time are 1 also shown. One very interesting figure is Vera Sosulitz, the "Mother of tho Another is Count Lvov, who made a vain attempt to make a uhion between the moderates of the country and the extremist section. "Oriental Love," one of the boldest and raciest Keystone's • yet shown, will rank as another chief support. The ninth episode of "The Secret Kingdom," entitled "The Swamp Adder," and the Pathe Gazette complete the programme. THE PALACE. A big double^feature programme commences at the Palace to-night. No. 1 feature is the great Wild West picture, "The Pendleton Round Up," showing thousands of cowboys, Indian scouts, rough-riders, cow-girls, stage-coach drivers, doing as a matter of course some of the most daring and thrilling feats. On the same programme is a fine fiveact Metro flliji, featuring Ethel Barrymore, entitled, "The Lifted Veil." lt is a screen version of Basil King's great story, which ran through McClure's magazine, and when published in, book form was an immediate success. The story is human— it deals with human frailties and problems, with human weakness and strength, with human sin and redemption. The stqry of Clorlnde QUdersleve, a rich society girl, who drifts into an affair with the husband of her friend, is a vivid picture of the temptation which might befall anyone. Her subsequent sorrow, her endeavors to seek peace and happiness, and her ultimate victory, make a powerful and interesting story that strongly appeals to all. The Palace management announce ' that the long-awaited serial, "The Purple Domino," will commence next Wednesday, when episodes Nos. 1 and 2 will be screened.
