WASHINGTON, May 1. M. Viviani, General Joffre, and Admiral de Roch'eprat visited the Senate and were cheered to the eoho. Immense enthusiasm was shown.
Responding, General Joffre shouted "Vive Les Eta.ts Unis." Proceeding, he prophesied a magnificent victory for democracy as the outcome of the war, with the help of '"•■he glorious country now participating m the struggle. Tlie press points out that not even Lafayette a hundred yeai's ago was accorded such a welcome.
